In 2012, 5 friends were interested in breakdancing and decided to start a crew called The VocaB. This latter is not only a dance crew but is also behind The Vocab Camp, an event that is going to take place in Lâayoune from April 7th to April 9th
For those of you who have never heard of it, breakdancing is a kind of dance that makes people go: “How did these kids learn to dance like that?” Some say that this dance just came out of thin air, but just like everything else, breakdancing did in fact start from someone. That someone is James Brown

The crew’s name is written as The Voca🅱 with an upper case, red colored letter B that reflects on the roots of the crew which come from the Bronx NY where Hip-hop culture began. They named their crew this way in order to add their moves in the dictionary of dance moves as a feature that differenciates each one of them from each other, just like an identity

Concerning the event, it will be a 2 days camp ,organized by the association of urban arts and similar methods and it will have international judges who will host various workshops, battles and more.

Although hip hop culture has made its way through much of the world, there are still some places where you wouldn’t expect hip hop music to flourish, and a city like Laayoune might not come to mind when discussing the art of breakdance. and that’s what The VocaB are trying to change
